Chances and Challenges for Inter-Generational Fairness
The EU Skills Agenda provided the grounds for a sustainable development of VET. With regard to disruptive changes technologies and the growing dynamics in the European society, however, the potential of VET has to be developed further. To harness the potential we want to discuss:
Artificial intelligence (AI), vocational education and training, together with a plead for intergenerational exchange and fairness form a transformative connection. AI and digitalisation are already changing professional career paths. AI can optimise learning processes through personalised platforms and simulations that improve access opportunities and training quality. At the same time, AI can help foster the dialogue between generations and create access to the experiences of the elder generation who already went through many transformations. Pedagogical innovation and a change of mindsets are needed.
As a contribution to the agenda for the future Union of Skills, this 11th edition of the Brussels: FutureTalks series will take a future-oriented focus on the main opportunities that are provided by the European and international cooperation in VET: What is needed for a more digital, fair and innovative development of VET?
